What leadership lesson has made the greatest impact on your career?
The leadership lesson that has had the greatest impact on my career is the importance of leading with passion. In commercial real estate and retail law, the work can be complex, fast-paced, and demanding. While technical expertise is essential, I have found that passion inspires teams and builds client confidence. When you genuinely care about your clients, colleagues, and the outcome of the work, that energy is contagious and helps projects move forward. Throughout my career, this approach has helped me build strong relationships and make my work more rewarding and meaningful.
What advice would you give to the next generation of women entering commercial real estate?
If you’re considering a career in commercial real estate, know that it is intellectually rigorous and deeply human. While mastering the law is essential, never lose sight of the fact that this business is ultimately about people and relationships. Invest in genuine connections, earn trust through authenticity, and approach every interaction with integrity and professionalism. Your reputation is one of your most valuable assets, and long-term success depends as much on the trust and relationships you build as it does on your expertise.
