What trend or change in commercial real estate do you believe will have the biggest impact over the next five years?

The biggest trend over the next five years is the redevelopment of aging malls into mixed-use destinations with retail, restaurants, entertainment, medical, hospitality, and residential uses. The goal is to create destinations where people can shop, dine, work, stay and be entertained. As these redevelopment opportunities continue to emerge, I believe land use strategy and the entitlement process will become just as important as the real estate itself. I believe this is just the beginning of the transformation of under-performing commercial retail properties.

What advice would you give to the next generation of women entering commercial real estate?

My advice to women entering commercial real estate is to be confident, persistent, and become an expert in your field. While the industry remains male-dominated, knowledge, preparation, and integrity will earn respect. Build strong relationships with mentors, sponsors, and other women who will support your growth. Remember, your career is a marathon, not a sprint. Stay true to your values, celebrate your achievements, and help pave the way for the next generation of women in real estate.
