The Rochester Area Chapter of the New York State Commercial Association of Realtors (RAC-NYSCAR) held its 2008 president's dinner and awards banquet.
At the event, Joseph Rowley, Jr., and Harry Gleason of CB Richard Ellis received the "Commercial Deal of the Year" award in recognition of a complex lease transaction as the landlord's representative involving the "Empire Beef" property in Monroe County. The deal of the year involved a 170,000 s/f high bay frozen warehouse with a four-year lease deal valued at $5.4 million
The co-winners of the "Best New Talent in Commercial Real Estate" award were Anita Bruckner of Charter Real Estate Brokerage and Scott Burdett of Flaum Management Company. Both Bruckner and Burdett had over $6 million in transactions in their first two years in the business. Burdett's were entirely lease deals and Bruckner's were sales with the exception of one lease deal. They were responsible for generating nearly 80% of the deals themselves.
Theodore Welter, also of Charter Brokerage, and Laura Pearce of Broadstone Real Estate received the "Meritorious Service" award for their outstanding work on the RAC-NYSCAR board of directors. Welter was instrumental in guiding the chapter's long-range planning committee and Pearce served as the chapter's membership chairperson.
Outgoing president, Brian DiNardo of DiNardo Realty Corp., received a special award recognizing his many years of dedicated service to the chapter and for his leadership as chapter president for 2008.
The event also included the installation of officers for 2009. David Dworkin of LLD Enterprises presided over the swearing in of Kevin Bruckner of Bruckner, Tillett, Rossi, Cahill & Associates as president, Welter as VP, Mark Rohlin of Commercial Property Advisory Services as treasurer, Andrew Dollinger of CBRE/Rochester as secretary and Steve Moore of Moore Corporate Real Estate as a new director.
