Manhattan, NY JLL represented HarbourVest Partners in securing its first N.Y.C. office at 9 West 57th St.

HarbourVest has signed a 10-year lease for 19,752 s/f on a portion of the building’s 49th floor.

Headquartered in Boston, HarbourVest is one of the world’s leading private markets investment firms, managing more than $160 billion in assets and serving institutional and private wealth investors across North America, Europe and Asia. The firm’s N.Y.C. office marks an important milestone in its continued growth, expanding its presence in one of the world’s leading financial centers.

JLL vice chairman Alexander Chudnoff and associate Ava Loughlin represented HarbourVest. Ownership was represented by CBRE’s Howard Fiddle, John Maher, Gregg Rothkin and Alex Leopold.

“Today’s leading financial firms are increasingly focused on attracting and retaining top talent, and the office they choose has become a critical part of that strategy,” said Chudnoff.

“HarbourVest wanted its office in New York City to reflect the caliber of its business, and to provide an exceptional experience for both clients and employees. Few buildings deliver that combination better than 9 West 57th St., which continues to attract many of the world’s most prestigious financial and investment firms.”

Located in Manhattan’s Plaza District, 9 West 57th St. is widely regarded as one of the city’s premier office buildings, offering best-in-class amenities and panoramic Central Park views.

HarbourVest’s lease reflects the continued flight to quality among financial services firms, which remain one of the strongest drivers of leasing activity in Manhattan as companies compete for premier office space that supports talent recruitment, client engagement and long-term growth.
