Real estate industry leaders celebrate 10th anniversary of She Builds with lower east side revitalization project
Manhattan, NY She Builds, a committee of Rebuilding Together NYC (RTNYC), celebrated its 10th anniversary on Thursday, July 23, 2026, by bringing together more than 200 volunteers, industry leaders, and community partners for a large-scale community revitalization project at Lower East Side II Houses. This year, the theme is “Building Communities. Empowering Futures” and the project will include planting and greening, construction of raised garden beds, painting and beautification of shared spaces, and mulching and landscape restoration.
“Mobilizing industry leaders to make a tangible, positive difference in our communities is powerful and reflects the very best of New York City real estate,” said She Builds Committee co-chair Laurie Grasso, co-chair of Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP’s global real estate practice. She added, “This year’s 10th anniversary project is an opportunity for the real estate industry to come together not only to improve shared space, but to invest in residents, connection, and long-term neighborhood vitality.”
