Austin Interiors delivers new Cupsogue Beach Pavilion ahead of schedule
on an accelerated schedule, so residents and visitors could begin enjoying the facility by Memorial Day.
Southhampton, NY What was once a construction site is now one of Long Island’s newest community destinations in Westhampton Beach.
Austin Interiors and general contractors completed the new beach pavilion at Cupsogue County Park, delivering the highly anticipated Suffolk County project on an accelerated schedule that allowed residents and visitors to begin enjoying the facility by Memorial Day 2026, well ahead of the original projected completion date of July 4.
Construction began immediately following Labor Day 2025 after Suffolk County awarded Austin Interiors the project. Austin Interiors mobilized its experienced team and completed the entire project in-house using its own local union workforce.

The new pavilion features more than 3,000 s/f of modern, wood-framed construction and includes a commercial kitchen, gift shop, men’s and women’s restrooms, family and ADA-accessible restroom facilities, and two spacious wood-frame and composite decks. One deck offers public seating overlooking the waterfront, while the second provides vendor seating and bar service, creating an inviting destination for beachgoers.
The project also included all site work, general construction, HVAC, fire protection, electrical and plumbing systems, providing Suffolk County with a modern facility designed to serve residents and visitors for decades to come.
Since opening at the end of May, the pavilion has quickly become a centerpiece of the Cupsogue Beach experience. The venue has already welcomed live music performances, cornhole leagues, community gatherings and countless visitors taking in the spectacular sunsets over the Great South Bay. It even served as the backdrop for a community watch party celebrating the New York Knicks’ historic NBA Championship, bringing neighbors together for a memorable evening on the waterfront.
“This project is a great example of what can be accomplished when you have an experienced team working toward a common goal,” said Bill Hardy, chief operating officer of Austin Interiors, Inc. “From our project managers and superintendents to every skilled tradesperson on site, everyone took tremendous pride in delivering this pavilion ahead of schedule without compromising quality. Seeing families, friends and visitors already making memories here is incredibly rewarding, and we’re honored to have built a space that will serve the community for many years to come.”
Austin Interiors was established in 1991 and began as a ceiling and drywall company dedicated to quality craftsmanship. Under the leadership of Bill Hardy, who took over operations in recent years, Austin Interiors has transitioned into union carpentry and subsequently general contracting, emergency response and a large-scale public works contractor. This strategic shift allowed Austin Interiors to offer comprehensive services from initial construction phases through to project completion.
