Roland to launch first flagship retail store with 7,519 s/f lease at 414 West 14th St.
Manhattan, NY Roland is a well known music brand from Tokyo, Japan is launching their first flagship retail store in the Meatpacking District. A music concert will be held near their first store opening on the Meatpacking District Cobble streets at 414 West 14th St.
This retail space will be occupying the ground floor with 3,779 s/f and the lower level with 3,740 s/f for a total of 7,519 s/f.
The lease was signed on May 20, 2026 for five year with a five-year renewal option for 10 years
First store opening date estimated: October 10th 2026 featuring a red ribbon cutting ceremony event with CEO and executives from Japan, Europe and North America.

Roland is not planned to be an ordinary retail store. This will be a mega major global music store opening in the big city.
Roland is opening its first flagship store in the Meatpacking District at 414 West 14th St. Roland is a global music electronic and software manufacturer from Japan who invented the famous TR-808 Synthesizer drum machine that made major hit records such as Michael Jackson Beat It beats to Whitney Houston, I Wanna Dance with Somebody and many other famous musicians all started with Roland Keyboards, drum set, drum machine, synthesizers, amps and electric guitars.

The MeatPacking District is the area for Roland where most of their electronic products are connected to technology and having the Flagship Apple Store across the street made sense to be there. Music today is integrated with Apple computer hardware called Logic Pro Roland’s Electric Drum Mapping, SI-24, USB Audio Recording, DAW control and apple iPad and iPhone that connects to your own fingertips.
Decades ago Music Row District located on West 48th St was the legendary area for musicians to purchase music instruments from the stores: Manny’s Music, Alex Music, Rudy’s Music Stop, and Sam Ash. Now times have changed over the years and has turned into mostly office buildings. Also there was Tin Pan Alley District was once known as center for music publisher and songwriters during late 19th and 20th centuries located on West 28th St. between 5th and 6th Ave. Now the area is mostly wholesale clothing, accessories, fashion jewelry and no longer a music hub anymore.
