Brownstone Boys Real Estate expands with Compass
Manhattan, NY The Brownstone Boys and Compass have launched The Brownstone Boys Real Estate, officially integrating their existing Compass team under the broader Brownstone Boys brand. With this shift, co-founders Barry Bordelon and Jordan Slocum are creating a more cohesive and considered way for clients to buy, sell, restore, and live in historic homes today.
Since their start in 2017, The Brownstone Boys have grown beyond a traditional design practice by building a platform rooted in how people care for and invest in old homes.
In tandem with their design and restoration work, Bordelon has been a practicing licensed real estate professional for six years. His existing Compass team averages around 45 transactions a year, with an average annual production volume of over $48 million (Compass CRM, 2020–2025). By fully integrating their real estate arm into the Brownstone Boys brand, they are formalizing a model that already exists in practice, bringing together brokerage, renovation insight, design expertise, and preservation-minded guidance under one trusted umbrella.
“Integrating our Compass real estate team’s services into The Brownstone Boys brand is an honest reflection of how we already work,” said Bordelon. “Prospective buyers and sellers were reaching out to us to understand what a home could become, not just to transact. With this integration, clients can now work with us through the home-buying and renovation process with greater clarity, whether they are evaluating renovation feasibility before making an offer, preparing a home for sale through design-driven positioning, or planning for the long-term stewardship of a historic property.”
Slocum said, “We approach real estate as the first chapter of a home’s story, and this evolution allows us to better serve clients who value design, craftsmanship, and long-term investment in their historic properties.”
Compass remains an essential partner in this next chapter. Its technology, market reach, and brokerage infrastructure continue to support the team’s residential services, while Slocum and Bordelon bring design and restoration insight based on their years of experience and expertise, and client-centered storytelling that has become central to their identity. This rebrand strengthens that partnership.
Doug Heddings, Compass managing director said, “The Brownstone Boys have built a distinct and trusted voice in the market by pairing real estate expertise with a deep understanding of the design and renovation of historic homes and brownstones. We’re proud to support this next chapter and their continued growth at the intersection of brokerage and home transformation.”
The team welcomes Allesandra DeLaCruz, Colin Turek, and Marc Solomon as part of this integration, who are deeply connected to historic neighborhoods across Brooklyn and Manhattan. The Brownstone Boys Real Estate is particularly well-positioned to serve clients drawn to brownstones, townhouses, and other character-rich properties. This partnership allows for the continued growth of the Brownstone Boys brand, as they look to eventually bring their love of historic homes across the US, from classic row houses in Philadelphia to the iconic Victorian homes in San Francisco.
