North Hempstead, NY Aurae, the luxury division of Aufgang Architects, a NY firm, designed three high-end residential and mixed-use developments in the city suburbs.

“These new upscale communities in Armonk, Sleepy Hollow and Port Washington reflect a growing demand for an alternative to urban living that emphasizes design quality, high-end materials and appealing amenities, with convenient access to the city,” said Ariel Aufgang, AIA, principal of Aufgang Architects.

Inspiration Wharf in Port Washington, Long Island, is a mixed-use community developed by MADDD Equities and the Sbarro family on the Manhasset Bay waterfront. It is located at 401–415 Main St. near the LIRR train station. Inspiration Wharf’s 26 apartments and 11 duplex units are available for purchase. It features a boardwalk, retail space, a restaurant and a sunset pavilion. The Aurae design emphasizes environmental sustainability with solar panels, a green roof and EV charging stations. Aurae incorporated a shoreline stabilization system with 3,000 s/f of native plantings of tidal wetland vegetation along a stabilized retaining wall at Inspiration Wharf.

In Sleepy Hollow, NY, Aurae designed a mixed-use community with 26 rental apartments in a five-story building located at 193 Beekman Ave., near the Tarrytown Metro-North Station. It is developed by Basalt Development at the former site of a commercial building. The studio-, one- and two-bedroom units have washer/dryers. This upscale community includes eight single family three-bedroom townhouses, approximately 2,700 s/f each, available for purchase.

Eagle Ridge in Armonk, NY, offers for purchase 88 townhouse units across 44 two-story structures on a secluded hilltop site at 3 North Castle Dr. It was developed by MADDD Equities and Stagg Group. It includes 80 units at 3,000 s/f, and eight units at 1,800 s/f. Eagle Ridge’s amenities feature a clubhouse and outdoor swimming pool.

“These three developments are architecturally compelling, environmentally responsible and harmonious with the context of their natural settings,” said Aufgang. “They provide residents the best of both worlds: style, comfort and high-level amenities with the walkable convenience of a true village setting with a sense of community.
