RIPCO Real Estate leases 3,455 s/f to Russian School of Mathematics at Paseo on Fifth
Brooklyn, NY RIPCO Real Estate has completed a retail 3,455 s/f lease with the Russian School of Mathematics at Paseo on Fifth, a mixed-use development in Park Slope. Developed by the William Macklowe Company and Greenbarn Investment Group, Paseo on Fifth has emerged as a key retail and community destination in the neighborhood.
RIPCO Real Estate represented ownership in the transaction, while Endurance’s Gregory Gang and Sergio Turaev represented the Russian School of Mathematics.
The Paseo, a tree-lined pedestrian passage where Fifth Ave. meets Sterling Place, is designed as a space to shop, gather, and unwind. Framed by a curated mix of retail and service-oriented tenants, the development offers a seamless integration of daily conveniences, wellness, and community-focused experiences.
“Paseo on Fifth continues to attract high-quality, community-oriented tenants,” said Jason Pennington, executive vice president at RIPCO Real Estate. “This lease underscores the strong demand for thoughtfully designed, mixed-use environments that integrate essential services with everyday convenience. As neighborhoods like Park Slope evolve, we’re seeing increased interest from operators that not only serve local needs, but also contribute meaningfully to the fabric of the community.”
“We envisioned Paseo on Fifth as more than just a residential development, it’s a place where retail, community, and everyday life intersect in a meaningful way,” said Billy Macklowe, CEO, William Macklowe Co. “The addition of the Russian School of Mathematics reflects our commitment to curating a tenant mix that not only serves local residents, but also enhances the neighborhood by bringing high-quality educational and community-driven uses into the heart of Park Slope.”
The Russian School of Mathematics further reinforces Paseo on Fifth’s role as a neighborhood hub. Known for its award winning after-school math program and strong academic outcomes, the institution continues to expand its global footprint. Their unique approach consists of a continuous K-12 curriculum, taught by expert teachers, in a classroom environment of peers who study together year over year.
“As we continue to grow our presence nationwide, Paseo on Fifth represents an exciting opportunity to become part of a vibrant and engaged community,” said Maria Gofshteyn, New York regional director, Russian School of Mathematics. “We are proud to bring our proven approach to math education to Park Slope and to contribute to a development that prioritizes learning, connection, and everyday enrichment.”
In addition to its retail offerings, Paseo on Fifth features luxury rental residences, including studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments overlooking The Paseo. With a thoughtful mix of premium amenities and a distinctive urban design, the development delivers a modern residential experience while enhancing the fabric of Park Slope for residents and visitors alike.
