What is one major challenge you’ve overcome as a leader, and what did it teach you?
Real estate is inherently cyclical, and my clients – developers, investors, lenders, and operators – often have personal wealth deeply intertwined with their projects. That reality demands more than technical legal skill; it requires genuine partnership. I’ve guided clients through market downturns, distressed situations, and periods of explosive growth, each presenting distinct pressures and opportunities. This has taught me that adaptability is essential. The trusted legal advisor role means understanding not just a client’s legal position, but their broader business objectives.
What daily habit or routine helps you stay focused or motivated as a leader?
I maintain detailed action item lists across all of my matters, reviewing and updating daily.
How do you inspire, motivate, or mentor others within your organization?
The legal profession is being reshaped by AI, and I’ve made it a priority to stay at the forefront of that transformation. Rather than view it as a disruption, I see it as an opportunity to work smarter and deliver greater value to clients. I actively explore new tools, evaluate their practical applications, and share what I learn with associates and staff. By fostering a culture of curiosity and continuous improvement, I help my team leverage technology to enhance efficiency, sharpen analysis, and stay ahead of the curve—ultimately ensuring we provide the best possible counsel.
