What recent accomplishment or initiative are you most proud of, and what impact did it have on your firm, clients, or community?

One accomplishment I am most proud of at SKG Capital is navigating a challenging capital and operating environment while continuing to stabilize and strengthen our portfolio. Through disciplined underwriting, hands‑on asset management, and proactive engagement with lenders and tenants, we preserved cash flow and positioned assets for long‑term performance. This approach allowed us to remain resilient while continuing to provide stable, well‑maintained housing across the communities we serve.

What is one major challenge you’ve overcome as a leader, and what did it teach you?

One major challenge I’ve overcome at SKG Capital was leading through shifting market conditions that placed pressure on both operations and financing. Balancing asset performance, lender expectations, and tenant needs required decisiveness and constant communication. The experience reinforced the importance of adaptability, transparency, and disciplined execution. It taught me that consistent, hands‑on leadership is critical to navigating uncertainty and protecting long‑term value.

How do you inspire, motivate, or mentor others within your organization?

I focus on leading by example and maintaining a transparent, collaborative culture at SKG Capital. I encourage open communication, accountability, and thoughtful problem‑solving, while empowering team members to take ownership of their work. By sharing knowledge, providing guidance during challenges, and supporting professional growth, I aim to build a team that is confident, engaged, and aligned with our long‑term objectives.

What advice would you share with emerging professionals striving to become future leaders in commercial real estate?

My advice is to develop a strong foundation in the fundamentals while remaining adaptable as the industry evolves. Experience matters, so take the time to understand both operations and capital, ask questions, and learn from challenges. Equally important is integrity and follow‑through — relationships are built over time. Leadership comes from consistency, accountability, and the ability to make thoughtful decisions under pressure.

What daily habit or routine helps you stay focused or motivated as a leader?

Starting each day by reviewing market data and industry trends before setting priorities.

What book, podcast, or app has most influenced your approach to leadership?

Dare to Lead book by Brené Brown, focused on empathy, trust, and team leadership.

Who has had the greatest impact on your career or leadership journey?

My father, founder and managing principal of SKG Capital, who set the standard through example.
