How do you inspire, motivate, or mentor others within your organization?
Motivation starts with leading by example. If I ask a member of my team to do something, I should also be able to do it myself. I make sure to make people feel heard, letting them share ideas, concerns, and contribute to solutions for our clients.
I also recognize and celebrate wins, big and small. It can be something as simple as a thank-you note or a small gesture of appreciation. This makes people feel valued and part of the team’s success. At the end of the day, it’s about building a culture where people feel respected, supported, and motivated to move the business forward.
What daily habit or routine helps you stay focused or motivated as a leader?
I time-block my day to stay focused across outreach, client meetings, admin, and tasks.
What advice would you share with emerging professionals striving to become future leaders in commercial real estate?
Focus on building trust, leading with integrity, and having empathy. With technology and AI rapidly evolving the industry, you also have to stay open-minded and be adaptable.
It’s also important to understand people, both clients and colleagues. Put yourself in their shoes, listen carefully, and be aware that everyone brings their own perspective and experiences to the table. Strong relationships are the foundation of success in the construction and trade industries, which are built on trust and referrals. You never know where one connection can lead, so invest in those relationships.
