2026 Ones to Watch - Industry Leaders: Henry Barnathan, Meridian Capital Group
Associate
Meridian Capital Group
“Henry leads by example and is responsive at all hours. He consistently thinks like a buyer across the capital stack, bringing creativity to every deal. By leveraging the full breadth of Meridian’s debt and retail platforms, he provides clients with real optionality and drives strong execution.”
What recent accomplishment or initiative are you most proud of, and what impact did it have on your firm, clients, or community?
Recently, we represented a first-time client in the sale of an asset that is now under a hard, non-refundable contract above the asking price, marking its first trade in over 25 years. Through a structured and highly competitive process, we generated significant buyer interest, ultimately driving both pricing and certainty of execution. The client is extremely satisfied with the outcome, and we will also be transacting with a buyer who has engaged Meridian for their mortgage financing.
What daily habit or routine helps you stay focused or motivated as a leader?
Waking early, leaving the house, and avoiding my phone until 8:00 AM keeps my leadership focused.
What advice would you share with emerging professionals striving to become future leaders in commercial real estate?
I have learned that how you present yourself, including how you dress, plays an important role in how others perceive and engage with you. Carrying yourself with professionalism, confidence, and respect helps establish credibility and earns the trust of colleagues and clients alike. This is a key principle I would share with emerging professionals striving to become future leaders in commercial real estate today.
