Manhattan, NY The Building Owners and Managers Association of Greater New York (BOMA New York), the area’s federation of BOMA International, one of the world’s largest trade association, has recognized the winners of the 2025 Skyscrapers for Life Competition, the association’s annual blood donation campaign co-hosted with New York Blood Center (NYBC). The initiative recognizes BOMA New York member properties for their commitment to hosting blood drives and supporting the region’s critical blood supply.

This collaborative effort comes at a critical time as New York Blood Center (NYBC) has declared a blood emergency and is issuing an urgent call for donors. Holiday disruptions, severe winter weather, canceled blood drives, and widespread seasonal illnesses have led to a significant decline in blood donations, resulting in critically low levels across the region.

In recent weeks, blood donations have dropped nearly 40% below what is needed to meet hospital demand, resulting in less than a two-day supply of blood for more than 200 hospitals across the tri-state area. The emergency declaration follows a challenging end to the year.

Skyscrapers for Life brings together property management leaders across New York City and Long Island in a friendly competition with a powerful mission: saving lives through blood donation. Participating properties host blood drives throughout the year, encouraging tenants, employees, and community members to donate and make a direct impact on local hospital patients.

The 2025 challenge, which ran from November 1, 2024, to October 31, 2025, exceeded expectations. Beginning with a projection of 2,200 donations, the campaign ultimately resulted in more than 2,482 blood donations. This represents a 51% increase from BOMA property management companies throughout NYC, when compared to the previous year’s campaign. With 13 new properties joining the competition this year, the 23 total properties contributed nearly 1,000 of their donations during one of the year’s critical time periods.

The 2025 Skyscrapers for Life Competition winners are:
