2026 Women in Construction: Nancy Lara-Repetto, Ponte Project Management
Principal
Ponte Project Management
What current or recently completed project, accomplishment or initiative are you most excited about, and why does it matter for your team, clients or community?
Our work at 318 Lafayette St. is not only overseeing a significant restoration project, we are also helping the owner qualify for available historic tax credits through the State Historic Preservation Office. The process entailed coordinating required submissions, qualifying eligible real estate expenses, developing photo keys, and preparing detailed narratives documenting compliance with preservation standards. Ponte is enabling the owner to pursue meaningful tax benefits while protecting the architectural integrity and long-term value of the asset.
What is one piece of advice or perspective you would share with women beginning their careers in the construction industry?
Although we have made great inroads towards gender parity in construction services over the past decade, it is still a male-dominated industry. During my career, I have had the opportunity to mentor many women as they entered the field, offering a perspective of fearlessness, openness to learning, avoiding stereotypes, and embracing unanticipated challenges. Equally important in today’s AEC environment is reinforcing the importance of literacy in technology, whether beginning a career on a construction site or in an office.
Share one fun or unexpected detail about yourself that colleagues might not know.
In addition to launching Ponte in 2021, my new album, “Beautiful Dream” by Nancy Lara, is streaming on all major platforms.
