What current or recently completed project, accomplishment or initiative are you most excited about, and why does it matter for your team, clients or community?

Because of my role, I’m involved in every project that comes through our office, which makes it hard to choose just one. One initiative I’m especially excited about is Reidy University, an internal program focused on expanding our team’s construction knowledge and practical skills. We’ve covered project compliance, emerging technology, safety tools, and better use of existing systems. A more informed team leads to smoother projects, stronger client relationships, and better overall outcomes.

What do you wish more women knew about the opportunities available in the construction industry today?

Although more women are entering construction, we are still a minority. Many people don’t realize how many paths exist within the industry. Whether your interests include sustainability, leadership, project management, design, or urban development, construction offers meaningful, long-term opportunities. The industry benefits greatly from the perspectives and insight women bring to these roles.

What emerging challenge or opportunity do you see shaping the construction industry in the next few years, and how are you preparing for it?

One of the biggest challenges and opportunities is the increasing complexity of regulatory compliance as the industry modernizes. In places like New York, permitting, insurance, and documentation requirements constantly evolve while schedules tighten. I focus on streamlining processes, improving coordination, and using technology to stay proactive. Treating compliance strategically reduces risk and keeps projects moving efficiently.

What is one piece of advice or perspective you would share with women beginning their careers in the construction industry?

Ask questions — and do so confidently. Construction can feel intimidating, especially when it seems like everyone has more experience. In reality, many people are learning as they go. Being honest about what you don’t know is far more effective than staying silent. Asking questions builds clarity, confidence, and long-term understanding.

What habit or routine helps you stay focused or motivated during a busy week?

During especially busy weeks, I take short mental breaks — sometimes just five minutes — to do a brain teaser like Wordle.

What is something outside of work that brings you energy, balance or creativity?

Travel helps me recharge and stay creative. Experiencing new places, cultures, and perspectives pushes me out of routine.
