What do you wish more women knew about the opportunities available in the construction industry today?

Construction is not only heavy-lifting work — it offers opportunities in leadership, engineering, project management, estimating, finance, and technology. In my career, I’ve had many different roles, from project management to estimating to operations.

Most importantly, the construction industry gives you the opportunity to be part of teams and projects that leave a lasting, tangible impact. There’s something incredibly rewarding about seeing, touching, and experiencing something you helped build. Knowing your work will serve communities for years to come creates a deep sense of pride.

What is one piece of advice or perspective you would share with women beginning their careers in the construction industry?

Trust your skills and speak up with confidence — you belong in this industry. Your perspective adds value and demonstrating consistency and competence will earn respect quickly. Ask questions and say yes to opportunities even if they feel a little uncomfortable. Find people who support you and learn from them. Skills can be learned, but qualities like work ethic, attitude, and integrity come from within — and those are what truly set people apart. My manager shared a piece of advice that has always kept me in check: the more you do, the more you can do and the less you do, the less you want to do.

What is something outside of work that brings you energy, balance or creativity?

Whether a Bollywood dance class or home décor project, moments of creativity recharge me so I show up better in all I do.
