2026 Women in Construction: Martina Melody, JT Magen

What do you wish more women knew about the opportunities available in the construction industry today? Construction is an industry that values leadership, work ethic, and problem-solving, and one in which women’s leadership and expertise continue to grow. With the support of JT Magen, I have been able to build a meaningful career as a woman and mother while showing my daughter that women can succeed in any environment.

What emerging challenge or opportunity do you see shaping the construction industry in the next few years, and how are you preparing for it? A major opportunity shaping the construction industry is the growing use of AI. I’m preparing for this shift with the understanding that AI is a support tool, not a replacement for human communication. Construction still relies heavily on clear and strong interpersonal communication and collaboration, something that JT Magen is renowned for.

What is something outside of work that brings you energy, balance or creativity? My daily classes at Orange Theory help me reset, manage stress, and stay disciplined, which positively impacts how I show up.
