What current or recently completed project, accomplishment or initiative are you most excited about, and why does it matter for your team, clients or community? I’ve been involved with The Crossings at Brick Church Station in East Orange, NJ, since 2018. This project is especially meaningful because it goes beyond following codes — it’s about thoughtful design. As landscape architects, we ask questions first: Where is the site? Who will use it? How can we honor local history and culture? These answers shaped a design that welcomes the community, creating safe, pride-filled spaces for residents and visitors alike. Brick Church exemplifies this approach.

What is something outside of work that brings you energy, balance or creativity? Gaming! Ever since I got the original GameBoy as a kid it’s been a big part of my life and I will always make time for it.

What is one piece of advice or perspective you would share with women beginning their careers in the construction industry? Never minimize yourself. Just because you are in a male dominated industry does not mean you need to be more or less of something else in order to fit in. There is only one of you in the world, and for every person that doesn’t value your authenticity there will be so many more who will be inspired by you simply being you.
