"These times are not for the faint of heart, but the real estate market has never been a place for those afraid to take risks," said Lois Weiss, real estate columnist for The New York Post, and the moderator of the ongoing series of Professional Women in Construction (PWC) developers forums including the upcoming January 29 program, aptly titled, "Stayin' Alive Through 2009: Development in Demanding Times." Is there a way to survive the current real estate market? Is thriving still an option? A quartet of high profile developers will tackle the tough questions while discussing their current and future projects at the PWC forum. Ivanka Trump, executive vice president, The Trump Organization, is an internationally recognized personality who broke records by selling out 464 units for $700 million in eight hours for the Trump International Hotel & Tower in Waikiki. Louise Sunshine, development director, Alexico Group LLC, is once more setting trends managing the development of a $2 billion portfolio of properties including The Mark Hotel, The Laurel, and 56 Leonard; Sunshine formerly ran The Sunshine Group. Jed Walentas is the principal of Two Trees Management Company which built up the DUMBO neighborhood of Brooklyn almost singly and is now venturing into Manhattan. Ilan Bracha, founder of The Bracha Group, ranked one of the top 50 real estate teams in the nation, recently branched out with the $300 billion private equity investment fund, B&B Investment Group. "These heavy-hitters aren't about to run for cover," said Weiss. For information and to register, visit www.pwcusa.org.
