Claman of SLCE Architects recognized for philanthropic support

Peter Claman, AIA of SLCE Architects, received the Jewish National Fund Tree of Life Award on September 23. The gala reception and dinner honoring Claman, held at The Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York, was attended by 300 of Claman's colleagues and peers from New York's top real estate development and business circles along with family and friends. Claman, a managing partner of SLCE Architects, is a leading expert in residential and commercial development with special expertise in zoning and site evaluation. He has built SLCE Architects' reputation for excellence of design combined with sensitivity to the functional use of space to provide successful living and working environments. His combination of skills and talents has established SLCE as experts in cost effectiveness and as providers of buildable design products. Claman has enjoyed critical recognition as a recipient of the American Institute of Architects' Honor Award and the General Building Contactor of New York State's "Build New York Award" among numerous others. A recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the New York Society of Architects, Claman serves on the boards of the Citizens Housing and Planning Council, the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation and for 12 years as the chairman of the Lake Success Planning Board. The Jewish National Fund bestowed its annual Tree of Life Award in recognition of Claman's long-term support of various philanthropic, humanitarian and civic organizations. He has also been honored by the United Jewish Appeal, State of Israel Bonds and the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies among others.
