Long Island City, NY Utopia Bagels has opened, bringing its hand-rolled bagels to one of the city’s fastest-growing neighborhoods. The 6,500 s/f location at 26-11 Jackson Ave. is Utopia’s third location, and the latest in the homegrown brand’s expansion across New York City.

Jeff Winick and Alex Karas of The Winick Team at RTL exclusively represented Utopia Bagels in securing a 15-year lease. Patricia Dunphy and Kimberly Savino of Rockrose Development Corp. represented the landlord.

“Opening in Long Island City was the right move for us,” said Jesse Spellman, co-owner of Utopia Bagels, alongside partners Angelo Tsoulos and Jimmy Tsoulos. “It’s a neighborhood that appreciates quality and community, and that’s exactly what we’re about. We’re excited to bring our bagels to this side of Queens.”

Founded in 1981, Utopia Bagels has built a loyal following in Whitestone, where its flagship location draws large crowds daily. The brand has gained national recognition in recent years, thanks to shoutouts from celebrities and food influencers alike. The new location, which officially opened in late May, has already drawn long lines and local buzz.

“For a brand with deep roots in Queens, it was important to find a space that felt authentic to their story and their future,” said Winick. “It’s the most dynamic bagel store to ever open in the tri-state area — and we’re proud to have helped bring it to life in a neighborhood that’s evolving and full of potential.”
