National Women’s Soccer League signs 21,000 s/f lease for new headquarters at Feil’s 551 Fifth Ave.
Manhattan, NY According to The Feil Organization, the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) has signed a lease at 551 Fifth Ave. The women’s professional soccer league continues to grow its front office staff and footprint as it redefines women’s sports in the U.S.
“We’re excited to welcome the National Women’s Soccer League as the newest innovative tenant at 551 Fifth Ave.,” said Andrew Wiener, head of commercial leasing at the Feil Organization. “The NWSL’s decision to make our building their national headquarters marks a new chapter in this iconic New York City office tower’s legacy. We look forward to seeing the lasting impact they will have on women’s sports.”
“The NWSL league office is growing at a rapid rate as we continue to lead the way in growing women’s soccer both at home and abroad,” said NWSL chief people and culture officer Lauren Lopez. “Our new headquarters reflects the tremendous growth we’ve seen at our league, as well as the energy and innovation that are hallmarks of culture as we continue to pave the way for the next generation of female athletes.”
The NWSL moved its headquarters from Chicago to New York in 2022 and has since tripled its overall staff count.
The move to 551 Fifth Ave. expands on the league’s 2022 vision to establish a prominent presence in the heart of New York City. The league’s new office building is located just south of the NBA’s and NFL’s headquarters. NWSL branding will be prominently featured in the lobby of 551 Fifth Ave.
The Fred F. French building at 551 Fifth Ave. is a class-A office skyscraper in Midtown. Completed in 1927, the building is a New York City designated landmark and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004. The iconic Art Deco design by Sloan & Robertson was restored in the early 1990s. 551 Fifth Ave. is located just steps away from Grand Central Terminal and the new Long Island Rail Road connection at Grand Central Madison, as well as some of the city’s best hotels, restaurants and retail stores.
