Mehaffy joins Wendel
Buffalo, NY Brendan Mehaffy, a professional with expertise in law, economics, urban planning, and management, has joined Wendel as the director of development strategies. With his multifaceted expertise, Mehaffy is dedicated to addressing complex urban issues and implementing effective strategies that lead to the development of projects that enhance community well-being.
Mehaffy previously served as an assistant corporation counsel for the city of Buffalo and as the executive director of the Mayor’s Office of Strategic Planning.
As the executive director he led a combined team of more than seventy urban development professionals that tackled all aspects of urban development. During his tenure thousands of market rate and affordable housing units were built, dozens of buildings were adaptively reused, hundreds of acres of brownfieilds remediated and redeveloped, and millions of dollars were secured for park and infrastructure investments.
Mehaffy also directed Buffalo’s nationally recognized Green Code effort that comprehensively rewrote the city’s development framework. This seven-year effort engaged thousands of residents and businesses and preceded a period of billions of real estate investment in the city.
Wendel sought to add Mehaffy to the team to utilize his experience and successes to benefit municipal and private clients across the country. Wendel is excited to leverage Mehaffy’s expertise as they expand its Total Project Solutions services, ensuring that their clients receive innovative, tailored solutions for their projects.
