Brian McAuliff, president of Bri-Tech, Inc. has created a Simple Energy Management System (SEMS) that can reduce a company's energy costs. Typically, companies install separate security and electrical systems that don't communicate with each other. Bri-Tech discovered that there is a tremendous benefit to having these systems communicate with each other. With this in mind, McAuliff and his design team developed SEMS, a unique integrated automation system that includes a lighting control system that seamlessly integrates with a company's alarm system. The SEMS system is a cost effective solution for companies that leverages their security system to save on their energy costs.
A large vitamin manufacturer on Long Island has taken full advantage of this new system and has drastically reduced their energy costs. Using the SEMS system from Bri-Tech to integrate the electrical and alarm systems, the system automatically turns off electrical loads when the building is armed, thus significantly reducing energy costs and helping the environment.
McAuliff's story begins while he worked at an electronics store to get through college. One day, a frustrated businessman stepped into the store, handed him a malfunctioning phone and asked for a replacement. Instead, McAuliff took it apart and soldered a loose wire. On the spot, the businessman, who happened to own an engineering firm, offered him a job. After receiving his Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering from Suffolk Community College on Long Island, McAuliff pursued his flourishing career traveling the world servicing clients.
At only 23 years old, McAuliff had already established a strong reputation and decided to start a consulting firm of his own. He started his business in his parents' basement, which was also located on Long Island.
He eventually was doing so well that he decided to start an audio/video business to expand his offerings. He moved out of his parents' basement and brought in his two younger brothers, Mark and Michael, to help him run the company. The three McAuliff brothers now have a 12,000 s/f facility in Bohemia, N.Y. with a staff of 40 people. Every year, Bri-Tech handles over 200 corporate installations and 50 home installations. Additionally, the company has opened an office in Greenwich, Conn. with a staff of six.
McAuliff's dedication allowed Bri-Tech to evolve into a leading designer and integrator of high-end home and commercial security systems including Fire Alarm, Intrusion, Access Control, Data Networking, Voice Communications, SEMS, and IP Video Surveillance. For almost 20 years, Long Island area businesses and institutions have relied on the proven, experience, and expertise of Bri-Tech for their corporate technology installations.
McAuliff also started Bri-Tech's sister company Smart Power, Inc. (formerly IPLLI), a high-tech power company specializing in electrical systems for computer and industrial applications. All services are turn-key making Bri-Tech a one-stop solution for all your electrical and security needs.
Bri-Tech offers "life safety systems" that are a necessity for businesses in today's chaotic world. McAuliff's philosophy is to give business owners peace of mind and protect their businesses 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Since time management is important to most business owners and developers, it's imperative that they have instant access to monitor their office buildings. Bri-Tech's Web Connect website allows business owners the flexibility of monitoring their office building from the comfort of their own home. They can also monitor and control their office from anywhere in the world. In an emergency situation, they can also receive e-mail notifications for unauthorized entry, fire emergencies, water leaks, and low temperature warnings.
Bri-Tech also designs and installs conference rooms, theaters, and board rooms for professional presentations and meetings. McAuliff wanted to give companies the "Power of Presentation" where most potential customers are sold before the presentation takes place. The state-of-the-art conference room that Bri-Tech delivers makes their clients' customers want to do business with them as soon as they take their seats in the conference/board room.
A huge portion of McAuliff's focus is also spent on audio communications. Bri-Tech can design and provide audio systems that range from a single station intercom to more complex systems including PA Systems, Intercoms, Entry Systems, and Sound Reinforcement.
As a self-confessed "geek," whose passion for electronics came at an early age, McAuliff never gave up on his dream of becoming the single source automated solution for businesses. From multimedia conference rooms to fully-integrated security, access control, data networking and monitoring systems, McAuliff built a company that is recognized today as a leader in engineered technology solutions for businesses. McAuliff's goal is to continue delivering high quality engineered systems that meet the changing needs of businesses and real estate developers.
