Vice President Leasing
Cord Meyer Development Company
What noteworthy transactions or deals from this year best exemplified key market trends or shifts?
Cord Meyer Development anticipated the growing trend of restaurants expanding into vibrant, outdoor-friendly spaces by creating a dynamic restaurant row at Bay Terrace Shopping Center. We envisioned a destination that combined appealing landscaping, inviting outdoor seating, and a diverse culinary offering to meet the rising demand for dining experiences beyond traditional indoor settings. This strategic foresight led to new leases with popular brands like Just Salad, Gen Korean BBQ, Cold Stone Creamery, and Someday’s Bakery, ensuring a thriving food destination that catered to a variety of tastes and preferences, contributing to both the shopping center’s success and the community’s dining culture.
What was your greatest professional accomplishment or most notable project, deal, or transaction in 2024?
One of our most significant deals in 2024 was securing Club Studio as a tenant at Bay Terrace Shopping Center. A new addition to the portfolio of Fitness International LLC, which also owns LA Fitness, Club Studio will occupy 26,725 s/f across two floors in the space previously occupied by Victoria’s Secret and Applebee’s. Cord Meyer is transforming the space with extensive renovations and the addition of a second floor to create a cutting-edge fitness facility designed to help members achieve and exceed their fitness goals. Club Studio’s arrival underscores our commitment to health and wellness and adds to the diverse range of tenants at the center. We anticipate completing the project by late 2025.
