Innovative Solution:

I am looking to continue to grow aggressively in New York and throughout the Northeast. That means meeting and recruiting a lot of talent. Given the slowed transaction velocity over the past few years, many people want to move but are hesitant. Given the hit on their income during these years and the expected ramp-up time at a new firm, they are pausing. However, I believe that it’s the absolute right time to move. If a candidate waits until the market is performing well, they’ll deal with that ramp-up time in a good market. You don’t want to be cooking while everyone’s eating.

Innovative Outlook:

In terms of innovation, I don’t think it’s what; I think it’s how. With the rapid development of technology in the CRE sector over the past 15 years, brokers have grown lazy. Information is so accessible, and deliverables have become so efficient that brokers are stopping before they separate themselves from their competition. They are utilizing the same tools as everyone else. Whatever the specialty, brokers need to leverage innovations one step further and add the human element of hard work to provide value. Brokers need to evolve from expecting technology to do the job for them and learn the technology.
