Brooklyn, NY TF Cornerstone (TFC) negotiated a new lease signing with NIN HAO at the ground floor of 595 Dean St. in the Prospect Heights neighborhood. The modern Fujian restaurant opened its doors last month.
James Ariola and Michael Azarian of Cushman & Wakefield represented NIN HAO for their new 1,890 s/f lease. TFC worked directly with NIN HAO to secure the lease agreement.
This establishment prides itself on being not just a restaurant, but a cultural experience which offers a fresh take on Fujian cuisine, a Chinese region often underrepresented in the culinary world.
NIN HAO seeks to bring the stories of its people to the forefront through its thoughtfully crafted dishes and immersive dining experience.
Fujianese cuisine, known for its delicate flavors and rich history, is brought to life at NIN HAO with a modern twist. The restaurant aims to highlight the contributions of Fujianese immigrants who have long been a backbone of the restaurant industry but have rarely been the focus of the culinary narrative. Signature dishes include the classic Fujianese Bian Rou Wonton Soup and Ban Ban Rice Noodle (aka “birds of a feather set”), and Fujianese Immigrant Oyster Seafood Pancake, as well as innovative twists on classic recipes like General Tso’s Whole Chicken and the most classic chinese home cooking dish Sauteed Tomato Egg twisted with Thai Curry prawn.
NIN HAO’s season one cocktail program draws inspiration from various regions of China and blends them with global influences. Each cocktail is meticulously crafted to represent a different Chinese city or province, with ingredients and techniques that evoke the essence of its culture.
“NIN HAO is a fantastic new addition to the TFC portfolio, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to our 595 Dean Street property in Prospect Heights where both residents and neighbors will be eager for their arrival. We are honored to support NIN HAO’s mission of introducing the unique flavors of Fujian cuisine to Brooklyn,” said Steve Gonzalez, vice president of retail leasing at TF Cornerstone.
“We’re happy to work with TF Cornerstone on this exciting deal, which marks our first brick and mortar location in the neighborhood,” said Evan Toretto Li, NIN HAO’s founder. “We look forward to bringing underrepresented Fujian cuisine, creative programming and more to residents of 595 Dean St and the local community.”
The interior of NIN HAO, designed by Plan Plan, blends traditional Chinese elements with contemporary design. The 16-foot-tall dining area, with its expansive glass walls and translucent stage curtains, is flooded with natural light during the day, while a polycarbonate-paneled wall transforms into a glowing lantern at night, offering a warm, intimate ambiance. Unique features such as Austrian curtains, a 12-ft.-wide aquarium, mosaic-adorned bathrooms, and a 17-ft.-wide and 13-ft.-tall mural wall dedicated to annual art creations add to the distinctive atmosphere, with the space designed to encourage creativity and cultural exchange.
Designed by Handel Architects, 595 Dean Street brings 798 new rental apartments and nearly 60,000 square feet of public green space, designed by MNLA, to the master planned Pacific Park development in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. The property is steps from Prospect Park, Grand Army Plaza and surrounded by the charm of brownstone Brooklyn.
