Manhattan, NY Savills has appointed Janet Woods as president, North America. As president, Woods will be responsible for overseeing a number of the firm’s revenue producing functions, as well working closely with leadership – locally, regionally and across North America – to execute the firm’s short- and long-term objectives.
Woods previously served as president, East, where she had oversight of the firm’s Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Central regions. In that role, she worked closely with senior, regional and local leadership on recruitment and retention initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, and on the development of objectives and execution of plans that aligned with Savills corporate strategies.
Woods, whose commercial real estate career spans 30 years, joined Savills as northeast region lead in 2019. Prior that, she held both brokerage and executive level roles at JLL, Cassidy Turley, Cushman & Wakefield and the Stan Johnson Company.
“As president, I look forward working with David, our senior leadership team and regional leaders across North America to usher in the next era of Savills and accomplish our ambitious corporate objectives,” said Woods. “I am a firm believer that this role is one that emphasizes connectivity and maintaining the culture that has made Savills such a special place, especially as we grow, evolve and empower the next generation of leaders.”
“Janet has made a tremendous impact on all facets of our business and culture since joining Savills in 2019. Her key role in undertaking major initiatives, ranging from high-level recruitment to the development of our long-term strategic plan, which she has successfully delivered is testament to this promotion,” said David Lipson, CEO, Savills North America. “She will be at the forefront of the strategy to continue to diversify our service lines, as well as scaling the business to differentiate Savills from our competitors.”
