November 21, 2008 - Brokerage
Calamar has been awarded the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) 2008 upstate N.Y. chapter award in the architectural and engineering category. NAIOP is a national association with over 9,000 members and an extensive network of 46 chapters that represents the interests of developers and owners of office, industrial and related real estate throughout North America.
The award was given for Calamar's development and construction of 3949 Forest Pwy. located in The Woodlands Corporate Center East, a 120-acre class A mixed-use development that is owned, developed and managed by Calamar. The park includes components of commercial, multi-tenant, industrial, office, retail and residential (both single family patio homes and independent senior apartments), all situated within a wooded, campus setting.
3949 Forest Pwy. is a class A office building totaling 31,000 s/f and was constructed utilizing the site cast concrete tilt-up method of construction. The building's architectural features include decorative concrete pilasters and caps throughout the design, stepped panels and spandral glass to create an impressive entry. Real thin brick was integrally cast into the concrete walls during construction providing both structural and aesthetic value. This real thin brick is an innovative method to achieve a brick façade.
"We are delighted to be a recipient of such a high honor," Calamar president Kenneth Franasiak said. "We feel very privileged to be recognized by our peers for this project and by such a prestigious organization as NAIOP. Knowing how many exceptional and worthy projects are presented, we are very proud to have 3949 Forest Pwy. rewarded by such high standards. We strive to bring the latest technology and uncompromising quality to all our projects and believe that this recognition is a reflection of those values."
An awards dinner was held at the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester for all the award recipients as well as other members of the real estate and development community.
