“Fiona’s strong work ethic and resilience make her an effective team player. A shining moment in her career includes management of the Hicksville Public Library Renovation Project from conceptual design to completion. Her rendering skills brought the design to life helping the client and the community visualize the transformative design.” - Irene Yim, Vice President at Mark Design Studios.
How do you balance your rising career with your personal life? I like to clear my mind by surrounding myself with nature, meditating, and painting, because I think a clear mind is the best way to lead an intentional life. Applying myself creatively and mindfully enables a mental clarity which enhances my quality of life and work experience/performance.
Beyond your professional achievements, what are some of your passions or hobbies? I’ve had a deep love for painting since I was about eight, and for me, it’s always been my primary mode of self-expression. The more I paint, the more I realize that what matters most is the narrative and emotion behind the painting rather than its perfection.
Who are the key people in your life that have contributed to your success? My brother and I truly are two peas in a pod. We often differ in thought/creative ideas, but it’s partly because of this that I can grow my own understanding and perspectives to further my own creativity. I cherish diverse perspectives and arguments, for which I will always be grateful.
Outside of your career, where else do you seek continuous learning and personal growth? Primarily, gardening has taught me the value of patience, that very often, time is my greatest asset. I try to learn as much as I can from my grandmother each time I visit her, and am always so inspired by her devoutness to her garden.
