H2M receives two awards for 2008 Canstruction design

H2M, a multi-disciplined engineering, architectural, planning firm with an analytical laboratory, is the proud recipient of 2 of the 5 Long Island Canstruction Awards; Best use of Labels and Most Cans, 8,200 donated cans.  The structures were on display from October 31 - November 12 at the RexCorp Plaza.
Canstruction, is a food drive that has been designed as competition amongst local architecture and engineering firms. Its focus is to create structures entirely out of canned food, give out awards for various competition categories and then donate all the cans used to Long Island Cares
"H2M is proud to participate in this extremely important event.  Being part of a community means to help those that can't help themselves," said RobertScheiner, senior vice president of H2M, "Long Island Cares does a fabulous job helping our fellow Long Islanders in time of need and H2M is happy to be part of the team assisting this fine organization."  
The official H2M team consisted of Chris Sagistano, Captain, Greg Levasseur, Jessica Soskil, Linda Chiz, Jenny Mulholland and Tom Strauser.  Several of the H2M staff assisted in the design and construction of their structure including Adam Post, Andrea Sobocinski, Eric Maisch, Kevin Medler, Kristina Sansotta, Mary Ann Christiansen, Robert Bee, Ron Lanner, Saverio Belfiore and Steve Hearl.
H2M would like to thank the contributors that helped the H2M team with their Canstruction entry: Super Stop & Shop - New Hyde Park, Best Roofing of New Jersey, Inc., Web Construction, VRD Construction, Telcar Group, Park East Construction Corp., J. Anthony Enterprises Inc., S.J. Hoerning, Baumblit Construction Corp., Rocco Maggio, Topaz Design Group, Pathmark, Wal-Mart and Pat's Meat Farm for their generous contributions to our structure.  
H2M's theme was Extinguishing Hunger, a three alarm fire scene constructed from a variety of cans, including tomato soup, chicken noodle soup, sweet peas, carrots, green beans and olives. Together we can make a difference towards extinguishing hunger from our communities.
