LICN holds 2nd seminar: Introduction to Commercial R.E.

LICN held its second Seminar "Introduction to Commercial Real Estate." ?It was another success! Over 44 attendees plus a bounty of knowledgeable speakers, the reviews were uniformly rousing! ?Denise Gershenson & Debbie Garnock of Newsday hosted LICN at the Newsday Auditorium in Melville and started us off with a short presentation of the power of Newsday in real estate advertising. ?Eric Brecher of WAMU 1031 Exchange gave an overview of the 1031 procedure, who & how investors can benefit from this tax process, and the timelines associated with the law. Ed Smith, (CBCNRT) noted teacher and lecturer, compiled and explained some of the terminologies unique to commercial real estate practice, and the formula for leasing & grading the various types of office space. ?Paul Fetscher (Great American Brokerage) gave a lively talk and slide show on the many forms that retail leasing can take, and the way measurements of retail space differ from other leasing.?Gail Gladstone (CBCNRT & LIBBI) showed us the unique & free forms of self-promotion currently available on the Internet, and how to profit from them. Lois Thompson (CBCNRT) reviewed Time Management techniques and effective Customer Screening. ?The seminar ran for about 90 minutes.
