Manhattan, NY Greenwich House, a nonprofit that responds to community needs through health, human services, education, and arts programs, has signed a new five-year lease for 5,038 s/f on the sixth floor of 80 Eighth Ave in Chelsea.
“80 Eighth Ave. has seen a lot of new leases over the past year; the building is 100 percent leased,” said Matthew Mandell, leasing manager at GFP Real Estate. “Tenants are attracted to the building’s convenient location between Chelsea and the Meatpacking District, and features flexible spaces and large oversized windows, providing that cool factor companies are looking for today.”
The new space will serve as a second location for Greenwich House Pottery, a ceramic art institution outfitted with new studios and equipment for wheel throwing, hand building and glazing. Offerings will include 30 new classes each season welcoming students of all skill levels to learn or enhance their ceramics practice. Greenwich House is expected to move into a new space in early 2024.
Mandell represented the landlord, GFP Real Estate. Corey Hight and Elliot Zelinger of Savitt Partners represented the tenant.
