Markel of Cresa leases 5,835 s/f at Heron Tower
Manhattan, NY Cresa vice president Nicholas Markel has arranged a new lease for Meltzer, Lippe, Goldsten & Breitstone LLP at Heron Tower, comprising the entire 18th floor of the class A office building at 70 East 55th St., between Madison and Park Aves. The law firm, which worked with Markel on a lease for the contiguous 19th floor in 2021, will be doubling its current footprint with the new 5,835 s/f space. The lease term for the 18th floor is 10 years and six months.
Representing the landlord, AMTAD, LLC, was JLL’s Diana Biasotti, Kristen Morgan, and Thomas Swartz.
“The timing was excellent for this full-floor expansion,” said Markel. “The landlord’s team, as always, was great to work with and we were able to negotiate a package for the build-out that included interior egresses between the floors and a brand-new amenity space.”
Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Breitstone, LLP is anticipated to take possession of the new space in first quarter 2024.
Adds Cresa managing principal Peter Sabesan, “Heron Tower is a LEED-certified, contemporary building with top-tier services and energy-efficient space. It was the right choice for our client in 2021 and continues to offer value with the new opportunity for expansion.”
Designed by Kohn Pederson Fox and completed in 1985, Heron Tower is a 27-story office tower with 154,000 s/f and has a LEED-Gold certification.
