Brooklyn, NY Slate Property Group in partnership with Avenue Realty Capital and SD Builders and Construction LLC topped out construction at 159 Boerum St. in East Williamsburg. The 116,000 s/f, 162-unit, building now stands at 216’ tall at the roof line. Workers marked the milestone with a ceremony on the 16th floor of the building. Construction is expected to be completed in the summer of 2025.
Designed by Aufgang Architects, the multifamily building includes 49 affordable apartments, as well as amenities including a fitness center, a roof deck, a parking garage, and bike storage. Setbacks above the 12th and 16th floors will make way for large outdoor terraces.
“We’re so grateful to the men and women on the job at 159 Boerum and the work they’ve done to get us to the milestone. This is our second major project in this immediate neighborhood, and we’ve striven to make sure this is a building both its residents and the community can be proud of,” said Martin Nussbaum, principal of Slate Property Group.
“For a city facing a housing crisis, every building and every apartment matters. We look forward to rapidly finishing 159 Boerum so we can make this building a home for New Yorkers,” said David Schwartz, principal of Slate Property Group.
159 Boerum is Slate’s second major ground-up construction project in the immediate area, following the now fully leased 222 Johnson Ave.
