Manhattan, NY Newmark Retail announces it has secured a new 5,400 s/f mixed-use lease for renowned hospitality operator Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels at 6 West 24th St. The lease comprises a 3,600 s/f, street-level restaurant space to house the group’s new hospitality concept, and an 1,800 s/f office space on the second floor. Newmark senior managing director Darrell Rubens represented the Rovt family-owned landlord, V-Star Ltd., in the lease transaction.
"This transaction marks the welcoming of Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels to Flatiron District, and we look forward to unveiling their new concept,” said Rubens. “We are gratified to have helped realize a highly favorable outcome on all accounts, and we are confident that the tenant’s vision will add a great amenity to the neighborhood.”
“We are certain that the concept developed by Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels for this space is a perfect match for the character of our building and ideal for this vibrant neighborhood,” said building co-owner Alexander Rovt.
The building at 6 West 24th St., before conversion, housed the headquarters for the United Charities of New York until the early 1900s. It then became the home of several commercial tenants, including a fur company, a tobacco company and a printing business. In the 1970s, the building was converted to a mixed-use asset, including a street-level restaurant space, retail on the ground and lower levels and offices on the upper levels.
Easy Street Properties’ Amie Claps represented the tenant, Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels, on the lease transaction.
