Houlihan Lawrence sells seven-acre <br> working horse farm for $5.6 million
Purchase, NY The commercial division of Houlihan Lawrence brokered the sale of a seven-acre working horse farm at 120 Cottage Ave. for $5.6 million. Teresa Marziano, who specializes in investment advisory and owner representation, represented the purchaser.
The property is located between the greens of the Golf Club of Purchase and SUNY Purchase College. The property’s landscape is in proximity to major Westchester infrastructure, including Westchester Airport. Its most recent owner purchased the property more than 20 years ago and created a setting for paddocks and an equestrian complex focused on the horses and riders.
The property, which borders state land, was originally part of a much larger, 500-acre parcel which constituted the Strathglass Farm. Its owners ran a cattle breeding business and over time developed a reputation for its Ayrshire breed dairy cattle.
Marziano worked with the purchaser for an extensive period, in search of a unique property that could fulfill the buyer’s vision. Her client was the first to see the property when it came on the market and once the prospective buyer determined there was a fit, a multipronged assessment of suitability commenced, leading to the ultimate, successful purchase of the property.
