New York, NY According to TF Cornerstone (TFC), French bakery and cafe, Maman, has opened on the ground floor of its residential development The West Coast, located at 95 Horatio St. in the Meatpacking District.

Maman signed a 10-year lease for the 1,650 s/f space located at 800 Washington St., previously occupied by Three Owls Market. Known for its coffee & French pastries, the opening marks Maman’s 21st location in North America, and its 18th in NYC.

“With strong retail presence in our residential buildings throughout the city, we continue to support our tenants and the neighborhoods in which we develop by delivering high-quality retail with beloved brands like Maman,” said Steve Gonzalez, senior director of Retail Leasing at TF Cornerstone.

“We’re thrilled to bring Maman to NYC’s thriving Meatpacking District,” said Ben Sormonte, who co-founded Maman with his wife, Elisa. “Elisa and I have loved serving New Yorkers and visitors over the past several years, and we’re excited to continue to expand to new neighborhoods and introduce guests to our signature favorites as well as brand new menu items.”

Maman Meatpacking offers classics like the made-famous-by-Oprah Nutty Chocolate Chip Cookies and Truffle Croque Maman, and is bringing back its Papa Poule menu - an exclusive menu centered around French-style rotisserie chicken.

Maman held its opening on July 18, where it awarded 100% of its food and beverage proceeds to charity partner Welcome Baby, a non-profit organization providing resources to low-income mothers with newborns. Additionally, all residents living within one of TFC’s nearly 10,000 rental units throughout Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn can receive a 15 % discount.

Situated next to the Whitney Museum with breathtaking Hudson River views, 95 Horatio St. is a 10-story property comprised of 318 rental residences ranging from studios to four-bedroom apartments. Originally the Manhattan Refrigerating Company headquarters, the unique building retains many of its original architectural features including extra high ceilings, exposed brick walls and architectural beams.

There were no agents of record on the deal. TFC dealt directly with Maman to secure the lease.
