Port Washington, NY Schwartz Sladkus Reich Greenberg Atlas LLP (SSRGA), a full-service law firm, has said that family law attorney Dina De Giorgio will join the firm as a partner. De Giorgio will become part of SSRGA’s family law department and will operate out of both SSRGA’s new Long Island office at 551 Port Washington Blvd. and the New York City office.
De Giorgio brings more than 27 years of divorce, family law and mediation experience to the firm. She previously managed and practiced in her own boutique firm, where she represented clients through every step of legal proceedings. De Giorgio works on all aspects of hearings and trials and acts as an advocate for clients in both mediations and litigation. For eight years, she also exercised her advocacy experience as a representative for the citizens of Port Washington and Manhasset as councilwoman in the town of North Hempstead.
De Giorgio received a bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from Fordham University in 1989 with a major in psychology, and her Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law in 1992. She is a member of the Family Law Section of the New York State Bar Association, the Matrimonial Law Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association, and a member of the New York State Council on Divorce Mediation and the National Association of Divorce Professionals, where she is a co-director for the Special Needs Chapter.
“We are pleased to welcome Dina as a partner with the firm,” said Jeffrey Schwartz, co-founder and managing partner of SSRGA. “Her breadth of experience will be an invaluable asset to clients as we continue to expand SSRGA’s geographic scope and capabilities.”
“Dina’s proven ability to negotiate complex family matters will support our commitment to provide superior legal representation for our clients,” said Steven Sladkus, co-founder and partner at SSRGA. “Her knowledge and skillset powerfully complement the industry-leading attorneys in our matrimonial, family & reproductive law department.”
SSRGA recently expanded to South Florida, merging with two firms there and establishing an office in Boca Raton. This expansion brought appellate law, administrative law and criminal appeals to SSRGA’s existing practice areas of real estate, healthcare, not-for-profit, litigation, business and corporate, matrimonial and family law, and trust and estate law. The firm’s expansion will create synergies for SSRGA’s real estate, trusts and estates, and matrimonial practices.
