Nominee’s Name & Job Title: Karrie Munoz, Business Development Manager, NY Division Manager
Nominee’s Company/Affiliation: LEW Environmental Services
Nominee’s City & State of Employment: New York, New York
Describe what you would consider to be ONE of your top career highlights:
I have helped inspect over 50,000 NYC rental properties over the past two years for lead-based paint hazards and I am proud to be an ally for property managers to help navigate the complex NYC lead-based paint regulations. My nickname around the office is the “NYC Rockstar” and I wear that label proudly.
What advice would you give the next generation of leaders in your industry?
Never stop learning. The environmental services industry is an ever-evolving field as new laws and technology arise, so staying on top of industry trends is key. It’s equally important to continuously learn about your clients to deliver services that are right for them and not just one-size-fits-all solutions.
What leadership role outside of the workplace is most rewarding to you?
I volunteer as a motivational speaker for the Latino Heritage Society of New Jersey. Offering mentorship and career development guidance for young Latino students reminds me that giving back propels you forward.
What is your management style?
I give my team the training and tools they need to own their roles and grow their skillsets. When you offer employees comprehensive training and a clear path to identify and resolve issues it empowers them to deliver excellent customer service.
