New York, NY According to Silverstein Properties, one of the city’s leading real estate development and management companies, Sarah Ashcroft has joined the company as senior vice president, development. As an experienced real estate and economic development professional with 25 years of commercial real estate experience, Ashcroft will be responsible for managing Silverstein’s current developments and expanding its pipeline of future projects.

Ashcroft will be managing the development of 5 World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan. The project is being co-developed by Silverstein Properties, Brookfield Properties, Omni New York, and Dabar Development. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, the 900-ft tall building is slated to have 190,000 SF of office space, a 12,000-SF community facility space, 55,000 SF of public amenity space, 7,000 SF of retail space, and 1.2 million SF of residential space divided into 1,325 apartments. Of these, 330, or 25 percent of the total inventory, will be devoted to affordable housing.
Prior, Ashcroft was vice president and senior regional director, northeast, for the Rockefeller Group. She was responsible for overseeing the company’s development projects throughout New York City, including 200 East 83rd St., an 86-unit condominium project on the Upper East Side, and a 380-unit rental project in Greenpoint. She spent four years as senior development manager for Jonathan Rose Companies, leading the development of a 90-unit rental building, The Pierrepont in Brooklyn Heights and a 650-unit mixed-use development in East Harlem, Sendero Verde. Ashcroft has also been vice president for the New York City Economic Development Corp., where she managed several large mixed-use development projects for the City of New York. She also worked for the Greater Jamaica (Queens, N.Y.) Development Corp. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and her master’s degree from New York University.
