Manhattan, NY It has become difficult, if not impossible, to imagine architectural design these days without visualization. Static renderings and dynamic animations illustrate the authentic, true-to-life qualities of the built environment during design. Auralization, or sound modeling and simulation, has the same effect for acoustics: hearing is believing.
The latest office expansion for AKRF in the city includes the build-out of a sophisticated sound simulation and audiovisual suite at 432 Park Ave. South. The new space includes PinDrop, a flagship conference room featuring highly engineered acoustical design treatments and audio systems for sound simulation alongside state-of-the-art audiovisual and multimedia technology for videoconferencing. Huddle rooms, ancillary offices, and an exhibition area complete the new suite.
Just as architectural renderings have become an everyday method of visual communication, a calibrated sound simulation is the new normal for communicating subjective impressions of the acoustical environment. Through sound simulation, AKRF is bringing the sounds of a space to life.
