Handler Real Estate Org. expands leadership team, Handler promoted to COO

June 14, 2022 - Brokerage

New York, NY Handler Real Estate Organization, the group encompassing four distinct but interconnected real estate companies, has completed several personnel moves.

Historically known as an owner of high-class office and loft retail properties in the Garment District and Far West Side (Handro Properties LLC) and leasing and brokerage services (Handler Real Estate Services), the companies also include Handro Management Group LLC (property management) and ESSH Investments LLC (the group’s investment vehicle).

Among the key personnel moves, Darell Handler has been promoted to COO of Handler Real Estate Organization, and industry veteran Richard Farley has rejoined Handler Real Estate Services as senior vice president & associate broker. Further bolstering the organization’s boutique brokerage business, Alex Bush has been promoted to senior director, and Kyle Galin has been promoted to director.

“Darell is an intelligent, enthusiastic, forward-thinking executive who has grown tremendously over the past decade,” said Scott Galin, Handler Real Estate Organization’s principal & CEO. “It’s been my pleasure to guide him and watch his progression from eager young broker into a leadership position. He will be taking on an elevated role in the organization both now and into the future.”

Handler, who has been with the organization since 2011 and was promoted to executive vice president in 2017, reports directly to Galin and co-leads the organization’s agency leasing efforts, servicing the portfolio of owned office and retail properties, and will lead Handler Real Estate Services, arranging third-party leases on behalf of tenants and other landlords throughout New York City. Handler will also be involved in all construction and design for interior build-outs for tenants in the owned portfolio, and will be instrumental with the development and management of the portfolio’s marketing program.

Furthermore, Handler will take a larger role with ESSH, supporting Galin in identifying, analyzing, and executing new investments. ESSH has invested as a Co-GP and LP in more than 115 unique investments across various commercial and residential real estate asset classes throughout the U.S., and in several institutional funds.

Farley, who served as an executive with the organization between 2014 and 2018, rejoins Handler Real Estate Services as a leasing broker both for the owned portfolio and third-party tenant and landlord representation, reporting to Galin and Handler. “Richard is a trusted, experienced professional who knows our organization and is well-respected throughout the industry,” Galin said. “Rejoining our team is a natural fit.”
