CDC of L.I. named winner in HIA's 2008 Gala Business Achievement Awards

Community Development Corp. of Long Island (CDC) received the Business Achievement Award in the not-for-profit category presented by the Hauppauge Industrial Association (HIA). "CDC is thrilled to be recognized for the important work we do to ensure that Long Islanders have the opportunity to pursue their housing and small business dreams," said CDC president Marianne Garvin. "We want to thank our friends at the HIA. Winning this prestigious award will help us reach more Long Islanders in need of our services and forge new partnerships with others that share our commitment to L.I.'s communities." Judging was based on CDC's commitment to the growth or betterment of the L.I. community, positive employer-employee relations, revenue and investment back into L.I. communities, and future vision. CDC's recent accomplishments, expansion into new markets, and industry leadership were crucial qualifiers in its bid for the award.CDC was honored at the HIA's Sept. 9th Gala Luncheon where 400 business professionals and political dignitaries heard a keynote presentation officiated by Suffolk County executive Steve Levy.
