New York, NY L&L Holding Company has finalized a full-floor lease with engineering intelligence platform Code Climate at 195 Broadway, its renovated office and retail building in Lower Manhattan.
Under the 10-year lease, Code Climate will move its headquarters from 54 West 21st St. to 41,878 s/f of pre-built space across the entire 20th floor of L&L’s landmark office building. Founded in 2011 and backed by more than $50 million in venture capital funding, Code Climate’s data-driven insights empower software engineering oganizations to align initiatives with strategic priorities, accelerate delivery and drive continuous improvement.
“We are thrilled to welcome Code Climate to 195 Broadway’s roster of best-in-class creative tenants from the tech, media and fashion sectors,” said Andrew Wiener of L&L Holding Company. “195 Broadway offers a unique blend of historical architecture, contemporary workspaces and exceptional access to mass transit in the heart of one of Manhattan’s most dynamic neighborhoods.”
Designed by renowned archiectect William Welles Bosworth, 195 Broadway was orginally built to serve as the global headquarters of the American Telephone and Telegraph Company. The ornate, 1.1 million s/f tower, which spans the full blockfront from Fulton to Dey St.'s, is located within steps of the Fulton Transit Center and the World Trade Center Transportation Hub.
In 2017, L&L completed a massive and painstaking redevelopment of the building’s historic Broadway lobby, made famous by its massive marble Doric columns, ornate chandeliers and polished bronze. In addition to serving as a grand entrance for office tenants, L&L re-introduced the public to a 50,000 s/f portion of the lobby, which is now high-end retail anchored by acclaimed restaurant Nobu Downtown and retailer Anthropologie.
Code Climate was represented in the transaction by Michael Thomas of Colliers. L&L Holding was represented in-house by vice president and director of leasing Andrew Wiener.
