Name: Jeffrey Hendler

Job Title: CEO

Company Name: Logical Buildings

What was the biggest lesson you learned while working during the pandemic?
Having a cloud software that reinforced connectivity and real time management was a key to our success during the pandemic. The fact that Logical Buildings was able to provide virtual solutions for energy management in commercial and residential buildings during the darkest days of the pandemic, not only enabled clients to lower operating costs, it demonstrated how our platform reduced load on the grid during heavy demand-response events. Our company actually grew during this period, as more people worked remotely and cloud management solutions became crucially important for building owners to manage energy costs and begin to meet ESG goals.

What was your greatest professional accomplishment or most notable project, deal, or transaction in 2021?
As the shift to working from home created new challenges for asset managers/owners, we were able to provide solutions for energy efficiency. In January 2021, our formerly web-based consumer platform, GridRewards, was launched as a free app, downloadable via Google Play and the App Store. The response exceeded all expectations and companies like Dermot, UDR, AvalonBay and Rose Associates quickly introduced GridRewards to residents to reduce utility costs and meet sustainability goals. Additionally, we worked with Revel on sustainable battery charging units and installed NYS’ first indoor lithium-ion battery storage unit at Avalon White Plains. It was a big year!
