Amherst, NY Uniland Development Company has unveiled plans to develop a 230,000 s/f, class A residential complex at the corner of North French Rd. and CrossPoint Pwy. The $45 million development includes four buildings which will create more than 200 residential units. The project is expected to be submitted to the Town of Amherst Planning Board in early 2022 and will require town approval.
The Residences at CrossPoint community will be adjacent to the main entrance of CrossPoint Business Park, the largest office park in Western New York with office and flex space for over 9,000 on-site employees including prominent Fortune 500 employers.
The mixed-use, residential development will feature one-bedroom and two-bedroom units. On-site amenities to include a fitness area, electric vehicle charging stations, a dog park, indoor parking, access to public transportation, a community center, and outdoor recreational uses with grilling areas and fire pits. An on-site daycare center is also being considered.
“This is a prime residential location based on its walkability, park-like qualities, and ease of access to local restaurants, businesses and nearby greenspace,” said Uniland’s CEO Michael Montante. “The new construction is located next to CrossPoint Business Park’s retail plaza, offering future residents’ immediate access to some of the regions favorite dining locations including Amherst Pizza and Ale House, Rachel’s Mediterranean Grill, Dunkin’, and Olympia Grill. The sidewalks along CrossPoint Parkway connect to major employers including GEICO, Fidelis Care and Citi, while the walking paths surrounding The Chapel support an active lifestyle. The existing traffic signal allows for safe and easy access along both directions of North Forest Road and to the I-990 allowing residents to get downtown or to other destinations in 20-minutes or less.”
“There is strong market demand for multifamily residential housing in our region and we’re excited to expand Uniland’s already existing portfolio of residential developments with this project that supports the Town of Amherst’s goal to add residential and retail space while embracing a live-work-play lifestyle,” noted Uniland’s Director of Development Kellena Kane.
Uniland has also constructed and currently owns and operates The Glen at Sheridan Meadows located at the corner of Sheridan Drive and Transit Road in Williamsville, as well as The Glen at Perinton Hills in suburban Rochester, NY.
