Special Olympics to honor Minieri of FCRC and Moudis of Ted Moudis

Special Olympics New York will hold its 9th Annual Real Estate & Construction Gala to benefit the organization's programs for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, on Oct. 15 at Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers. This year's honorees are Joanne Minieri, president and COO of Forest City Ratner Companies (FCRC), the N.Y.C. subsidiary of Forest City Enterprises, and Ted Moudis, AIA, senior principal and founding partner of Ted Moudis Associates. The gala, attended by 500 people, honors real estate industry icons who play a role in improving the quality of life of New Yorkers and is one of Special Olympic New York's most important fundraising events. Previous honorees include Kenneth Cooper, CBS; Rory DeJohn, Turner Construction Co.; former deputy mayor Daniel Doctoroff; Gary Greenspan, Mitti Liebersohn and Bruce Mosler, Cushman & Wakefield; Louise Matthews, Avon Products; Peter Riguardi and Raymond Quartararo, Jones Lang LaSalle; Stephen Siegel; and Leslie Whatley, Morgan Stanley & Co. The gala begins with a cocktail reception at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and a program. This year's event will also feature raffles. Tickets are $750 per person; tables start at $5,000.
